About the route
The Sancaka trains run at 07:33, 12:17, 17:49 and 23:13, and the Argo Semeru at 13:33 and Argo Wilis at 14:10 are good daytime choices. The night trains, such as the Bima at 00:13 and Turangga at 00:31, arrive in Surabaya before dawn, which is useful if you have an early onward connection.
Gubeng is Surabaya’s central station, close to the main shopping streets and the Tunjungan area, and a few minutes by taxi from most hotels. If you are heading to Malang or Banyuwangi, trains go on from here, so you can change without leaving the station.
