Hua Hin is the main beach town on this railway, and from Nakhon Pathom, 165 km away, fifteen trains reach it in between 2 hours 8 minutes and 3 hours 13 minutes. The fastest are the Special Express trains, and the Ordinary and Excursion trains stop at nearly every station on the way.

How to buy tickets
The easiest way to buy train tickets in Thailand is online rather than going to the station. You do pay a very small commission but the ease and convenience makes it worthwhile in our opinion.
Baolau is the best site to use for buying train tickets, they have access to the live Thai Railways booking engine, so you can easily see availability, timetables and prices.
Payment can be made using international credit cards and PDF confirmation tickets are sent to your email address within a few minutes. This is the actual ticket you need to board the train, so there’s no need to exchange it at the station before travel. You may prefer to print the pdf out, but it’s also fine to show it on your mobile phone to the conductors and station staff.
How far ahead you can book depends on the train and how much of the route you ride. For full details on booking windows, see the when to book Thailand train tickets guide.

About the route
This is a useful route if you are exploring the west of Bangkok and want to continue south without going back to the capital. Most of the trains leave in the afternoon and evening, from about 16:00, with the morning trains at 08:23, 08:30 and 08:37, and slow Ordinary trains at 10:57 and 14:18. The slow trains cost less, but you cannot book them in advance.
Hua Hin station is one of the prettiest in the country, a wooden building with a royal waiting room that dates back to the early twentieth century, and it is a short ride from the beach and the night market. In high season the town fills up, so book the trains and your room early, particularly for a weekend.
